NER · THE SIMPLE VERSION
An AI Computer in Your Home? Here’s the Simple Version.
Home AI compute + solar, explained in plain English.

AI needs computers. What if one of those computers lived in your home—and you received a share of the paid work it performed?
That is the idea behind National Energy Renovations’ home AI compute hosting offer, paired with qualifying new solar.
Here is how it works, without the technical vocabulary.
First, what is an AI compute node?
It is a specialized computer that processes computing tasks. “Node” simply means it is one computer connected to a larger network.
AI tools use computers to turn requests into results. For example, a trained AI model uses computing power to produce an answer or analyze information. NVIDIA calls this process inference. That explains the kind of work computing equipment can perform; the hosting provider determines which approved workloads reach a particular home unit.

What would I actually do?
You provide an approved indoor location, electricity and internet. The equipment operator manages the computing work and equipment service under the hosting agreement.
You do not need to become an AI programmer to understand the offer. You do need to understand the space, power, internet and contract requirements for your home.
NER helps coordinate that review with program partners.

Where does the money come from?
From customers paying the operator for computing work.
Follow one job: approved work reaches the computer, the computer processes it, and the operator collects payment. The hosting agreement explains your share of the money collected and which costs can be deducted.
Payments follow actual paid work and collections. More paid work can mean more computing revenue; less paid work can mean less.
Compute earnings could help offset your solar payment and remaining electricity costs. What you keep depends on the money collected, allowed deductions, solar payments, electricity, internet and taxes. Your proposal should show those pieces together.
Why does solar come with it?
Because the computer uses electricity.
This offer pairs the node with a qualifying new solar installation. Solar can help supply electricity for the home and hosting equipment. NER reviews your roof, utility, usage and project costs together.
Solar payments remain a separate obligation. Select qualifying California and New Jersey projects can also pair hosting with a solar lease, subject to provider, property and project approval. The solar lease and node hosting agreement are separate contracts.
Is there a written guarantee?
Yes: the provider offers written, contract-defined bill protection.
It covers eligible electricity-cost shortfalls and qualifying required internet increases relative to your documented pre-program baseline, after compute earnings are applied, during eligible active hosting—including zero compute income.
The agreement defines the covered costs and conditions. This protection does not set a fixed monthly compute payout or reimburse every household bill. Ask how your particular solar payment is treated in the written proposal.
Could my home qualify?
The program is available for review in CA, CO, CT, FL, HI, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NC, TX and VA. Property, utility, installer, provider and project requirements apply. Financing approval is required if financed.
NER is based in Morrisville, North Carolina, with local guidance for Raleigh and the Triangle and coordination across the participating states.
Your first step is a home eligibility review. NER helps you understand the proposal for your particular home.
Could your home host paid AI work?
Start with your state, ZIP code and utility. No obligation from an inquiry.
